Organisations

Encouraging staff to prioritise their wellbeing isn’t just preparation for retirement, it builds resilience, independence, and vitality for all of life. This National Healthy Ageing Day on May 6, workplaces can take action to help employees keep doing what matters, at work and beyond.

Healthy ageing in the workplace

Australians are working longer than ever, which brings new opportunities and responsibilities. The habits we build in our 40s, 50s, and 60s shape how well we age, influencing our energy, confidence, and independence later in life. Supporting healthy ageing at work means creating environments where people can continue to thrive, contribute, and feel valued.

Promotional pack

This pack gives your organisation simple ways to champion National Healthy Ageing Day. It includes social media graphics, posters, and e-newsletter copy you can share across your workplace and through your communications. Each piece is designed to spark awareness, start conversations, and give employees individual actions that support healthier ageing at work and in life.

Workplace activities

These simple workplace activities give people a moment to pause and think about the things that matter most to them: the passions, hobbies, routines, and everyday tasks they want to keep doing as they age. Each activity encourages reflection and offers practical ways to support future health and wellbeing.

Whether it’s identifying what they want to keep doing as they get older, trying a small healthy action for the day, or choosing one simple commitment to support their wellbeing, these activities make it easy for people to take meaningful steps toward ageing well.

Are you a health or aged care organisation?

If your organisation works with older people or delivers health and community services, you’re already contributing to healthy ageing every day. That’s why there’s a dedicated set of actions for you on our Health and aged care organisations page.

As our communities age, we need to create environments where people can remain active, connected, and healthy at every stage of life.
