The NDIS: Clinical Advisory Team is made up of occupational therapists who receive and review applications for assistive technology (devices and equipment) submitted to the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).
The occupational therapists in the Clinical Advisory Team have a high level of understanding and expertise in assistive technology options that support the needs of people with disability.
The Clinical Advisory team are tasked with ensuring each assistive technology application meets two of the six criteria of the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) Requirements for Assistive Technology, being Safety and Value for Money.
Working with NDIS participants, carers, support organisations, staff and funding bodies the Clinical Advisory Team ensure optimal outcomes for individuals.
Applications received by the Clinical Advisory Team are generally for wheelchairs (manual and power), vehicle modifications, home modifications and other high-risk equipment.
